User Note

7/29/2021  Check in

7/29/2021 Inspection – ESC is out of warranty by date. MOSFET board shows damage. Diode on capacitor is damaged and missing. See pictures. Possible causes are:

  • Improper power input (reverse polarity)
  • Excessive amp draw (extreme burnout, incorrect gearing, too many runs in a row)
  • Motor out of sync (bridged terminals, sensor gap)

The cost to repair the ESC will be $120 plus, plus $8 shipping, for a total of $128. Please reply directly to this email if you wish to move forward with repairs and we will send you an invoice. Also, please include the car you are running, motor, can timing and gearing and we can offer suggestions to help prevent this from happening again.

8/16/2021  Invoice: Please pay the invoice if you agree to proceed with the repair. Thank you!

8/19/2021  Customer’s reply with question.

“Hey on my  maclan drk 160 on the  tuning part the throttle puch  I was  told  not to  go  below  60 but I see every one  is running single  number for there throttle  puch  and going faster  is it going to hurt the esc  to  run like 8 or 9 percent throttle puch ”

8/23/2021   Hello Avery, I am sorry for the late reply. There is no problem with running the punch low. The punch setting effects the transition between each stage. Higher numbers is a faster transition and lower numbers are smoother and slower transitions between the stages.

9/10/2021  We’d like to follow up and see how would you like us to proceed with your case. Please reply this email with a response. thank you!!
