Product To Return : MCL2003 MMax Pro 160A ESC
Problem With Product : I was making test passes with my street eliminator 2s setup, 4.0 trinity motor and a few runs in the esc seemed like the sensor wire was unplugged. I installed a new wire, made sure my solder joints were good on the motor. Tried a different motor, also tried two different firmwares, same issue.

User Note

10/12/2020  Check in.

10/16/2020 Inspection

  • ESC has rewired positive and negative wires to 10AWG

  • ESC has permanent damage on the MOSFET board. Possibly caused by out of sync motor signal (please note that we are not able to provide an absolute judgement because there were the rewired 10AWG on the ESC and the motor in the equation. We are only able to provide our finding and possible causes.)
  • Please see the below photos for the damage.

  • The cost to rebuild the ESC is $100 plus return shipping. Since this ESC is in a fairly new condition, we’d provide this one time courtesy support of a 30% off discount and to waive the return shipping. It will be $70 to rebuild this ESC.

  • We would also strongly suggest you:
    • Check the sensor gap on the motor that you ran with the ESC. It should have minimal sensor gap (less than 1mm).
    • The original 12AWG wires are more than capable to handle drag race power. To replace the wires have high risk to overheat the ESC circuit board and can possibly cause issues that voids factory warranty. To minimize the risk, we suggest to keep the original 12AWG wires for the application.

Please reply if you wish to perform the service. Thank you.
