Product To Return : MCL2003 MMax Pro 160A ESC
Problem With Product : Product was purchased as a Combo Set, MCL3046, was working perfectly (it was a great package) until race day on the weekend. Performance suddenly became restricted to approx. 35% power during mid race. It subsequently dropped to zero power, for no obvious reason. Checked all settings, reloaded the firmware, same outcome. All LED indicators suggest that everything is working as normal, but no power is supplied to the output leads.

User Note

9/24/2020  Check in

9/29/2020 Inspection

  • Tested the ESC as is, no problem found.
  • The ESC was able to power up properly. We setup with our testing fixture on the bench and keep running the ESC for 5 minutes. There was no sign of power loss or cut off. We managed to take a few videos for your reference. Please see
  • We are certain the ESC has no problem.
  • When the ESC has its power in the limp mode, it’s most likely the ESC has protection kicked in. It can be voltage, ESC temp, or motor temp. It can also be a sensor issue on the motor, or the sensor cable.
  • To quickly verify the corresponding error code (protection), we suggest using an android device or Maclan PC software to check. For example, after we ran 5 minutes, we checked the data logging as shown in the below photo.

  • The data logging on the attached photo shows consistent RPM, and increased ESC temperature.
  • We are only able to test what was available in the return package. We confirm the ESC is good. Please let us know if you have any questions.
