User Note

9/14/2020  Check in

9/15/2020 Inspection

  • ESC needs to push to start spinning in sensored mode. The possible causes were
    1. reverse polarity damage
    2. motor side (ABC post bridged, motor shorted, or sensor unit damage)
  • We inspect the ESC to confirm it was most likely caused by a motor. The MOSFETs on the ESC were partially damaged in the high side.
  • We would suggest you not to use the motor that you connected to the ESC as it can cause damage on new ESC again.
  • The cost to rebuild this ESC is $120. Since this ESC is fairly new, we would offer you a one time 30% discount to rebuild the ESC. It will be $84 plus return shipping.
  • Meanwhile, we’d suggest you to send us the Maclan motor you have. We will perform a detailed inspection to ensure the motor will work without issues with the rebuild ESC. Please reply if you wish to perform the service. Thank you.

  • Rebuilt ESC with brand new internal boards.
  • Tested and verified, please see RMA#1500 testing video.
  • The original Hurricane cooling fan was also damaged due to physical impact. All blades were broken. Please note that cooling fan is normally not a warranty item. We have no control on physical impact caused by crashing. We’d provide this one time courtesy to replace with a new fan.
  • Final note: We have made sure this ESC is up and running without any problem. Please be careful to connect to a motor, make sure all motor wires are connected in correct sequence.
