Product To Return : MCL2003 MMax Pro 160A ESC
Problem With Product : I was adjusting the steering while holding the car in my lap and observed a wisp of smoke from the negative wire where the cap pack is connected. i looked to see if anything was crossed and it looked to be isolated. After that the motor seemed to only run if nudged. Both the ESC and motor where not hot to the touch but the negative wire seemed warm where I observed the small wisp of smoke. The Motor when nudged runs but sounds different. Before this happened I have run it a couple of times in my basement on carpet around my pool table. It ran fine with two full 2s batteries without getting warm. This is all that it has seen for use. I was getting ready for it’s first run in a vintage RC10 Worlds Car RPM conversion at a carpet track mod class 2wd. Really bummed…… car was dialed. i selected the 13.5 profile from the profile selection. The only thing that was changed was brake and BEC settings.

User Note

Check-in: 3/4/2019 by Barbara

Inspection: 3/4/2019

  • ESC has damaged MOSFET power board.
  • The ESC was set at Profile 6 for BOOST Touring Car. The profile was not correct for RC10 off road buggy. We have a couple of questions that need to be clarified. Please kindly reply the e-mail.1. What was the gear setup of your RC10 buggy (pinion and spur)?
    2. Was there a particular reason that you set the profile to 13.5 boost touring car?

ESC Repair: 3/8/2019

  • ESC was rebuilt with new MOSFET power board and capacitor module.
  • ESC was tested and verified. Please seeĀ RMA 1132 testing video.
